I Love My Job
I think it's illegal to love a job this much. Seriously. I am never ever quitting. My only complaint is that I barely make enough to live in this city, but it's so worth it. I love that I look forward to work every day and that I don't dread setting my alarm at night. I even get benefits and paid time off, things I haven't had in years. (I cannot wait to get new glasses).
We were completely and totally dead after 7:00, so Weston played his cello and John played his guitar. They did some pretty cool improv tunes. I felt stupid sitting there not playing anything, so Ben (our supervisor) got a violin for me so I could attempt some notes. According to them, I did pretty well. They said most people can't get a violin to make a sound, let alone an actual note, on their first try. I have no idea what I did, but my first sound was a clear A. I liked it, but I think I'm going to learn cello. I love the way it sounds, especially in person. On a CD it's nice, but in person, it resonates through my body and makes me want to laugh or cry, depending on the song.
I love working with people who know music. John and I talked and talked and talked about theory, instruments, performances, and sound. John plays cello in addition to guitar. He's always wanted to learn piano, and I need to learn cello, so we might trade lessons. Weston joined us after he clocked out for the night. Yes, it's one of those places that's so much fun people actually hang out once they finish their shift.
I have found my niche, and it is Shar Music. :)
